Live Life to the Max

In July of 2022, after a wonderful start to the summer, tragedy struck and life as we knew it changed forever. On our way home from visiting family, our car was struck from behind by a reckless driver and we lost our beloved son and big brother, Max. Kindermourn quickly became a lighthouse, guiding us through the unknown. Over the last four years they provided individual counseling to both my husband and myself, play therapy for our son Griffin, group counseling for all three of us, retreats, holiday support and education and coaching on parenting a grieving child.

The loss of a child is unfathomable and leaves an ache that will never go away. Because of the generous support of our community, the incredible staff at Kindermourn are able to carry out the mission of providing hope to grieving families through counseling and additional supports.

Max would have celebrated his 11th birthday on April 27th. In his memory and with gratitude to Kindermourn, we have set a goal of raising $1,100 for the Hope Floats Duck Race.

KinderMourn provides hope for bereaved parents, grieving children, and teens by offering support and counseling programs, creating awareness of bereavement issues, and empowering the community to effectively assist those who have suffered an unthinkable loss.

What Your Ducks Can Do:

A Six Quack (6) - $30

Provides a week's worth of snacks and drinks, offered to all children and teens who visit the KinderMourn home for counseling

The Lucky Dozen (13) - $65

Provides one counseling session for a newly bereaved parent grieving the loss of a child at any age or from any cause

The Whole Raft (20) - $100

Provides one counseling group session with professional KinderMourn counselors for teens grieving the loss of a loved one

Super Flock (50) - $250

Provides counseling with KinderMourn clinical staff to school communities, employers, churches, etc. after a tragic or unexpected death
