Mid-Coast Family Services is a local non-profit with a mission to empower children, adults and families to live a life free from family violence, homelessness, sexual assault, and substance abuse. In order to meet the mission, we have developed and implemented many programs and activities. We operate an emergency shelter and transitional housing for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault who need a safe place while rebuilding their lives. To prevent and end homelessness, we provide permanent housing for chronically homeless individuals and families and assist with rent to prevent families from becoming homeless. We offer a wide variety of counseling and group services for individuals impacted by sexual assault. To help kids make healthy choices, we provide evidence-based drug-prevention services. To help families learn healthy relationships, we provide counseling for kids and parents. We work to identify service gaps in our community and do our best to fill them.
