I am involved in an amazing music program at AFA (Chamber Music Academy, Composition Studies, Summer Music Festival, DeLUXE K!DS In Harmony), Houston's largest independent nonprofit provider of music education programs for kids.
On Saturday, November 4 at 10am, AFA is hosting its fifth annual Bayou City Duck Race on Buffalo Bayou at Allen's Landing Park. AFA will launch 7,500 rubber ducks into the bayou that will race to the finish line. Don't worry...none of the ducks are left treading in the water. The top 10 ducks to finish will win a prize like $2,500, Raising Cane's chicken for a year, performing arts tickets, and restaurant gift cards.
You can help my team by adopting a single duck, a quack pack, a flock of ducks or more to support AFA. You don't have to be present to win, but you won't want to miss seeing the ducks dumped off the bridge or hearing performances by the AFA Chamber Music Academy and DeLUXE K!DS In Harmony along with students from Kinder HSPVA’s Mariachi Los Pasajeros ensemble.
The best part is that all proceeds benefit AFA's Play It Forward Fund which helps students attend their programs. Your support will have an impact!
