IT'S TIME FOR THE CHICAGO DUCKY DERBY!!!
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Special Olympics Illinois is hosting
this annual fundraiser and I hope you can help.
The ducks will race from the Columbus Drive Bridge on the Chicago River and YOU could be a winner! I know I say that every year, but it really is true! For every $10 duck you adopt, you will be entered to win a fabulous prize including an all-new Chevy Trailblazer and other exciting prizes!
All proceeds benefit 21,000 Special Olympics Illinois athletes across Illinois. You know how much I love participating in Special Olympics! I compete in softball, volleyball, basketball, bocce and bowling throughout the year. People ask me all the time which sport I like the most - and I love all of them! I just finished 8 weeks of bowling competition and will compete in a tournament in July. I'm enjoying a summer of softball games and am returning as the team pitcher! And I recently competed in the statewide bocce ball competition and won a gold
medal in my division!
If you can, try to attend the Ducky Derby on August 7! It's open to the public and there is a great festival happening until the truck pulls up and drops thousands of rubber ducks over the bridge into the Chicago River. I will be there as SPLASH, the duck mascot wearing the bright yellow furry costume!
