Emily and her family first participated in Special Olympic 16 years ago when she was 10 years old. Her initial sports were Track and Field and Rhythmic Gymnastics and that first Summer Games was something we will never forget. So much fun, pride, love and sense of community among the athletes, their families, coaches, SO staff and volunteers. In the past, Emily has participated in Swimming, Soccer, Bocce and Cheerleading. Her current sports are Snowshoeing, Basketball, Softball and Volleyball and she truly enjoys being a part of those teams. She is excited to add Golf to her list of Special Olympics sports in June.
Needless to say, Special Olympics has been and continues to be huge part of our lives and is why we are part of the Darling Ducklings Team. The Chicago Ducky Derby is a signature fundraising event that benefits Special Olympics Illinois. Proceeds from your duck adoption go to support Special Olympics Illinois programming and impacts Emily and a community of over 24,000 athletes.
