United Ministries Quackers

Founded in 1970 to meet the crisis needs of Greenville County residents, United Ministries has evolved to focus on developing the potential each family possesses to become self-sufficient—and even to thrive. While short-term needs continue to be met by direct financial aid, homeless day shelter services, and shelter for homeless families, most of the agency’s resources are invested in people working toward long-term education, employment, housing, and financial wellness goals. The agency partners with individuals and families who are living in poverty and experiencing homelessness in order to help them self-identify strengths and goals, while developing and then implementing action plans to help them prosper. Our programs (Adult Education, Emergency Assistance, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Place of Hope, Striving to Thrive) and support services (mental health counseling, financial coaching, matched savings plans, financial aid) work harmoniously to provide structure and guidance to participants to maximize the likelihood of each person’s success. Our ducks are anxiously waiting. They're super excited to take a dip in the Reedy River.
