Fayetteville Duck Derby 2014

Adopt a Duck Now!

Fayetteville Urban Ministry and Rick Hendrick Toyota Scion are pleased to bring you the opportunity to improve people’s lives all over our community by supporting the 4th Annual Fayetteville Duck Derby on May 3rd, 2014. Voted The Best Local Fundraising Event, 2012 & 2013 by Up & Coming Magazine, this event has been a huge success and, with your help, we expect it to impact more lives than ever this year!

The Fayetteville Duck Derby is an event where thousands of rubber ducks race down the Cape Fear River to support Fayetteville Urban Ministry, over 20 other local non-profits, and for the first time ever, Cumberland County Schools. Each duck is “adopted” for $5, then tagged with an adoption registration number. Anyone 18 or older can adopt a duck! The first 5 ducks to cross the finish line win big prizes. Grand prize is the 2014 Toyota Scion xD! You can adopt your duck online here or by visiting a Partner Non-Profit or School.

Mark your calendars for two key events:

  • The Duck Tagging Party on Thursday, May 1 (6pm – 9pm @ Rick Hendrick Toyota Scion -1969 Skibo Road) Volunteers will “tag” each duck with a number corresponding to a duck adoption. The Tagging Party offers a community service opportunity, and it increases duck adoptions and awareness of the event.
  • The Fayetteville Duck Derby on Saturday, May 3 (@ Campbellton Landing - 1122 Person Street) A free family-friendly festival, featuring live entertainment, a kid’s zone, food and the BIGGEST race in town! Festivities begin at 12pm!
